An editorial in Bismarck Tribune discusses the problem of an oil pipeline “bottleneck” that could happen by the end of the year. Because of increased production in the Bakken area and other areas of the state, ND could soon be producing more oil than it can transport.
Getting more pipelines built will remain an issue, but it’s something the state is already working on. The North Dakota Pipeline Authority was created in the 2007 Legislative session. Energy will most likely be an issue in the upcoming Legislative session, as well.
