Many of them have been terrorized into voting Democrat, or have been since the New Deal. If energy becomes the determining factor, how will that affect the farm vote? Many of the same farmers who enjoy the rich ethanol subsidies and believe that the Dems will provide a more generous farm bill also own mineral rights on their land. Do they vote for crop money or oil money? What a quandary!
