Buggies & Blues Car Show Coming To Mandan
Published by gwen June 5th, 2008 in Uncategorized.The annual Buggies & Blues car show and celebration will be held this Sunday in Mandan, North Dakota, according to this Bismarck Tribune article. Red, white and blue triangular flagging was already zig-zagging across Mandan’s Main Street yesterday. This is a huge event. This year, more than 500 cars 1979 or older will be featured in the main show on Sunday.

This year, Buggies-n-Blues is featuring the world’s oldest known Corvette. The 1953 Corvette is owned by Dave Ressler.
I think I might have actually seen that car yesterday. My daughters and I spotted a deep blue Corvette with the Ressler name painted on the side. I didn’t get as good a look at it as I would have liked, but I’m surprised at what a thrill it was to see that beautiful car on the road.
Dave’s got quite a few collectible Corvettes in that museum of his on First Street in Mandan. I did a video for one of the ‘vettes he sold at Barret-Jackson a couple of years ago, which also highlighted some of his other prize cars. He has a matching pair, 1953 and 2003 Corvettes with matching paint and interiors and matching serial numbers! If I remember correctly, that’s about a $500,000 combo.
