Further Proof Of North Dakota’s Increasing Wind Energy Production
Published by gwen June 4th, 2008 in Energy, Politics and Government.DMI Industries, a steel manufacturing company with a wind tower manufacturing facility in West Fargo, North Dakota, recently announced that it is expanding the North Dakota facility and a facility in Oklahoma. A press release issued from Gov. John Hoeven’s office commended the expansion, stating that production capacity at the plant will be increased by 40 percent.
From the press release:
“Once the expansion is completed, DMI Industries will be the largest manufacturer of wind towers in North America,” Hoeven said. “This new facility will add employment in West Fargo, and help DMI provide more towers for North Dakota’s growing wind industry, as well as for the industry throughout the country. Congratulations to all who worked to make this happen.”
The press release also states that North Dakota’s wind energy production was less than half a megawatt a few years ago. Now there are more than 1500 megawatts built or currently being built.
UPDATE: I just found the R-Squared Energy Blog, which lists some of the current wind production development projects. It might be worth a view.
