Earth Day Festival In Bismarck, North Dakota
Published by gwen April 22nd, 2008 in Beyond North Dakota, Outdoors, Politics and Government. You don’t have to have seen the Phoenix Lights Monday or be afraid of global warming to make a difference. Celebrating Earth Day can be as simple as talking with your kids about recognizing the consequences of their decisions and taking personal responsibility for them.
That said, there are plenty of venues available to open those discussions. For people who enjoy staying at home, the web is full of Earth Day lesson plans that can be adapted to both classrooms and family situations.
For those in the Bismarck, North Dakota area who want to actually get out and do something, consider the Earth Day Festival at the Raymond J. Bohn Memorial Armory at 4200 East Divide Avenue. The festival runs from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Besides a myriad of activities for the children, I understand that Gov. John Hoeven has signed a special Earth Day proclamation to be displayed at the festival.
Oh, and the event is free.
