This graph from a Google trends search shows how the interest in the Bakken oil formation is growing.  There’s nothing there until 2008, and then suddenly a blue line spikes up to the top of the charts. 

This brings to mind that the Bakken formation isn’t important only to people living in North Dakota.  It could mean energy independence for the entire U.S. and perhaps more competitive oil and fuel prices for other parts of the world, as well.

I guess that’s worth looking into.
