A Great Explanation of Food Crops and Ethanol Production
Published by gwen April 16th, 2008 in Uncategorized.As sticker shock at the grocery store becomes more severe, it’s easy to question whether investing in ethanol production is really wise. The article Biofuel Diversity at the University of North Dakota emphasizes the fact that ethanol doesn’t have to come from food crops and mentions some other, very interesting ways America could work toward renewable energy and energy independence.
My favorite of those options, so far, is research and development into cellulosic ethanol production. It just makes sense to convert our waste wood and mowed switch grass to something that powers (and empowers) human life.
