My personal favorite is the Walrus, and the owner and his family are great folks. DiDonna's is also great, and was started by the former head chef of The Walrus. I don't compare the two; it's like comparing old and new Star Trek or old and new Van Halen. They're both fantastic. The atmosphere is much quieter than Space Aliens and it's still fun. I've been in the restaurant but I've never had the chance to eat there. I've heard from multiple people that the food is delicious. I also understand they make and they serve chokecherry ice cream when they can get chokecherries. The chef, Tracy Stuart, tries to focus on locally produced food. Since chokecherries are now the North Dakota state fruit, I think I'll have to try some this summer. About once a month, we can be found in the bar on a Wednesday night so he can get his bbq rib fix, but I've never had a meal that I would call delicious at Space Aliens. Just my personal opinion, and hey, that's what blogging is all about, right? For something delicious, go to the bar at Pirogue and order the lamb burger off the bar menu.
