Christmas Tree Bonfire in Beach, North Dakota Raises Money For Local Groups
Published by gwen January 2nd, 2008 in North Dakota People.According a Bismarck Tribune article written by Mandan High School senior Megan Nitschke, the little town of Beach, North Dakota has an interesting after-the-holidays tradition. Townspeople gather together to burn their Christmas trees in a community bonfire.
The event isn’t merely social. The bonfire is used to fire pottery that is auctioned off as a town fundraiser.
Kudos to Megan Nitschke for this article.
