Minot State University in North Dakota is holding a Native American Awareness week.  An article printed in the Minot Daily News today includes some interesting history about a Mandan chief, White Coyote, who traveled to St. Louis and Washington, D.C. with Lewis & Clark.

The article mentioned that White Coyote was born at On-A-Slant Village, about seven miles south of Mandan.  The village is now located in Fort Lincoln State Park, along with the Custer house and some army barracks.
