Rainy Day Beauty in North Dakota

The drive to Minot on Saturday was rainy, but gorgeous.  At one point I saw a heron standing in a small pond off the side of the road, surrounded in mist.  I didn’t get my camera out fast enough to get a photo of that.

My family and I enjoyed several camera-intensive moments, though, as I ran down the battery in my digital camera trying out new things.  I still have a lot to learn, but here are some of the fun things we saw that I actually got pictures of.

One of two wind turbines near Minot, North Dakota, nearly shrouded in a misty rain.  The other turbine wasn’t visible.

An oxbow in Minot’s Oak Park.  This used to be part of the Mouse River, which runs through the town.
