My Trip to Garrison, North Dakota

While I was up in Garrison yesterday, I snapped some pictures.  This one is one of my favorite spots in the state.  It’s part of Garrison’s 30-acre wilderness park.  Like most of the town, the park is kept immaculate.  I could have stayed there for hours.

This one is another of my Garrison favorites:  the inside of Fezziwig’s Warehouse (may I suggest visiting it in November or December during the Charles Dickens festival).  The bar was made by a local woodworking artist, Cecil Osterlund.  When you visit, be sure to investigate the carving on its front.

One more:  Wally the Walleye, a Garrison icon, swims at the head of Main Street.  The town is famous for its fishing tournaments.

What I didn’t get to take pictures of was the new Cricket on the Hearth bed and breakfast (I’m hoping it will be open during the Dickens Festival).
